El Cencerro

There is a little restaurant on the edge of the Parque de los Mangos in Alajuela, Costa Rica, called El Cencerro. The Costa Rican cognoscente flock to El Cencerro, which means The Cowbell, in English, for their charbroiled steaks, sumptuous hearts of palm salads, and the intimate view from the balcony of the park below. This view is especially delightful on Sunday evenings, when young Alajuelans gather after Mass in front of the domed Cathedral to see and be seen.
